In this session we will highlight the work at Lakeridge Health Emergency Departments and Inpatient areas. Information from this session will help organizations strengthen their approach to pressure injury prevention, with an emphasis on strategies for early risk assessment, skin integrity checks, and championing best practices in acute care.
You will hear from our featured speakers, Taleen Encarnacao, Corporate Clinical Practice Leader, Interprofessional Practice, and James Ibbott, Manager, Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, as they share:
- Insights from the International Pressure Ulcer/Injury Prevalence (IPUP/IPIP) survey report
- The evolution of pressure injury quality checks and outcome measures
- Challenges in Hospital-Acquired Pressure Injuries (HAPI)
- Prevention and management policies, training and resources
This interactive session will include opportunities to ask questions and learn directly from these leaders, while sharing strategies for early risk identification and prevention. We will also continue to share links to most updated tools and resources for you to use.
