Health
Quality Ontario
and the Pregnancy and Infant
Loss (PAIL) Network
have partnered to develop the Early Pregnancy Complications and Loss Quality Standard,
which addresses care for people experiencing complications, such as
pain and vaginal bleeding, and/or the loss of their pregnancy in the first 13
weeks. The quality standard applies to all health care settings and
includes diagnosis, follow-up, and management of physical and
emotional aspects of care for early pregnancy complications or
loss.
The quality standard includes eight quality statements addressing areas that have high
potential for improving the quality of care in Ontario for people with early
pregnancy complications and loss.
Below is a sample of tools that may help get you started
with the implementation of the quality statements, organized according to
purpose. Many of these tools will help to support multiple quality statements.
