Part one of this two-part series, titled “Using Data Equitably to Improve Health Outcomes: Respecting and Prioritizing Indigenous Data Sovereignty and Governance” we will hear from from the Indigenous Cancer Care Unit and Indigenous Health Equity and Coordination teams at Ontario Health.

Part one of this series focuses on the importance of respecting Indigenous data sovereignty at Ontario Health. The Indigenous Cancer Care Unit will outline:
- their partnership with First Nations, Inuit, Métis and urban Indigenous communities to conduct community-driven research and health data work
- ‘Catching Cancers Early’ project
- Indigenous Data Governance Matters process
The Indigenous Health Equity and Coordination team will outline the First Nations, Inuit, Métis and Urban Indigenous Health Framework, with a focus effective data collection, analysis, evaluation and governance.

- Become familiar with some of Ontario Health's current efforts to support and respect Indigenous data sovereignty and data governance
