Quality improvement (QI) is a systematic, formal approach to the analysis of performance and efforts to improve it. In health care, QI is a proven, effective way to improve care for patients, residents and clients, and to improve practice for staff.
The tabs below describe the steps in doing a QI project and present tools and resources to help you along the way. Remember that QI is an iterative process, and you will likely revisit some of these steps many times.
