While some Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) victims are identified as “being at risk for further victimization” living with mental health and addictions has been identified as a primary factor for further victimization. Victims face challenges to get connected to existing community services. These can be mental health and or addictions issues that are diagnosed or undiagnosed.
This IDEAS team focused on the following aim;
To refer 100% of people who are living with mental health and/or addictions issues who are screened as persons involved in domestic disputes (DD) who come in contact with Ottawa Police Service to community mental health and addictions services by September 2019.
